The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. BFC 1982's Abel Bordat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save BFC 1982 from getting a goal against them. 4 minutes into the match, FC Cosula-BTF-'s goal looked a bit too open when Ambrosio Etxatxu came free, but Ilie Brumaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. BFC 1982 were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after FC Cosula-BTF-'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ambrosio Etxatxu took the corner. BFC 1982's Ambrosio Etxatxu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ilie Brumaru in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 9th match minute, BFC 1982 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elvio Bastian to maneuver through the defense. Olimpiu Teodorescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Abel Bordat made a huge save. 21 minutes into the game, Petruț Dugulescu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Abel Bordat. Petruț Dugulescu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Abel Bordat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petruț Dugulescu in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, BFC 1982's goalkeeper Abel Bordat had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Petruț Dugulescu. After a rather tough play, BFC 1982's Jonathan Oroitz got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the match, BFC 1982's Augusto Bortzaioriz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ilie Brumaru narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gheorghe Chițan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, FC Cosula-BTF-'s goal looked a bit too open when Hector Napier came free, but Ilie Brumaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Cosula-BTF- booed when BFC 1982 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ambrosio Etxatxu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Abel Bordat successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Olimpiu Teodorescu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Abel Bordat came out and tried to block the shot, but Olimpiu Teodorescu slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Olimpiu Teodorescu was the one to do the kick off. BFC 1982's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ambrosio Etxatxu in the 51st minute. BFC 1982's Ambrosio Etxatxu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ilie Brumaru in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Abel Bordat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olimpiu Teodorescu in the 56th minute of play. When Gheorghe Chițan fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Cosula-BTF-'s protests and gave Gheorghe Chițan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Cosula-BTF- getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Gheorghe Chițan hit a great ball. Sergiu Rădoi kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, FC Cosula-BTF-'s goalkeeper Ilie Brumaru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ambrosio Etxatxu. After 68 minutes, Dan Alupulesei mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Cosula-BTF- and the BFC 1982 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dan Alupulesei hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, BFC 1982's Ambrosio Etxatxu got a free kick in the 85th minute. 3-0 became the score in the 87th minute when Petruț Dugulescu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ilie Brumaru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hector Napier in the 94th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Cosula-BTF- fans cheered their team off the field, for while BFC 1982 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
