Ilie Brumaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octávio Moita, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. FC Cosula-BTF-'s Ilie Brumaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octávio Moita in the 5th minute of play. When Basarab Seremet fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Cosula-BTF-'s protests and gave Basarab Seremet a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Cosula-BTF-'s Basarab Seremet got a free kick in the 7th minute. Sandu Bărbânță received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Albérico Vilaverde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 played minutes SC Braga got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Calado. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petruț Dugulescu in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albérico Vilaverde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Cosula-BTF-'s Ilie Brumaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandrino Bessa in the 15th minute of play. A collision led to SC Braga getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gentil Vasques hit a great ball. The supporters of FC Cosula-BTF- booed when SC Braga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Octávio Moita didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 31st match minute, FC Cosula-BTF- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sergiu Rădoi to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Alexandrino Bessa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Albérico Vilaverde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandu Bărbânță in the 36th minute of play. Albérico Vilaverde came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Cosula-BTF-'s Olimpiu Teodorescu. But to his dismay, Olimpiu Teodorescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 41 minutes into the match, FC Cosula-BTF-'s goal looked a bit too open when Octávio Moita came free, but Ilie Brumaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, SC Braga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gentil Vasques to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egídio Paixão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Petru Chirea hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. FC Cosula-BTF-'s Gheorghe Chițan got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Petruț Dugulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Albérico Vilaverde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albérico Vilaverde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Neicu in the 60th minute of play. After 63 minutes, Olimpiu Teodorescu made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. SC Braga's Albérico Vilaverde tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olimpiu Teodorescu in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albérico Vilaverde saved SC Braga from getting behind. SC Braga's Albérico Vilaverde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Teodorescu in the 68th minute of play. Octávio Moita kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Braga getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Caetano Coutinho hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute Octávio Moita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Brumaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
