The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ronald Lammens scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Murillo Valladares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th minute Ronald Lammens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murillo Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Cacá Ramalho sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Fc Benefica's Edgard Rijaard didn't even have to move. 28 minutes into the game, Régis Sampaio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MUSHIBA FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fc Benefica the free kick. In the 28th minute, one of MUSHIBA FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for MUSHIBA FC. MUSHIBA FC's Murillo Valladares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjoerd Wilson in the 36th minute of play. 36 minutes into the game, Fc Benefica's Sjoerd Wilson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Murillo Valladares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rodolfo Donato was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the MUSHIBA FC defense, Ronald Lammens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Murillo Valladares. The MUSHIBA FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Murillo Valladares should have stopped the shot. After 56 minutes of play, Fc Benefica's Ronald Lammens made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Murillo Valladares was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, MUSHIBA FC's Murillo Valladares got control of the ball when Ronald Lammens tried to sneak it across the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Ronald Lammens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Murillo Valladares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 71st minute, Ronald Lammens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th match minute, MUSHIBA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Donato to maneuver through the defense. Murillo Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronald Lammens, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. 76 minutes into the match, MUSHIBA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronald Lammens came free, but Murillo Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80thth minute of the game Fernandão Schmidt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fc Benefica's Edgard Rijaard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Fc Benefica's Denny van den Berg got a free kick in the 81st minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Ronald Lammens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc Benefica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronald Lammens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Fernandão Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. MUSHIBA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernandão Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Rijaard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A sloppy throw-in by Michel Ramos in the 92nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Fc Benefica's Jan Tulner. Sjoerd Wilson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Murillo Valladares firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to MUSHIBA FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Régis Sampaio hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernandão Schmidt in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgard Rijaard prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
