The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Xurxo Canal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC CHIVA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ the free kick. The supporters of CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ booed when FC CHIVA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Colsa didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Colsa in the 7th minute of play forced CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Doriva Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doriva Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Colsa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, FC CHIVA's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Queirós came free, but Andrés Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, FC CHIVA's Enrique Palencia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Enrique Palencia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC CHIVA protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Enrique Palencia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Reginaldo Borges charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Reginaldo Borges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Reginaldo Borges hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Agnaldo Sampaio got a free kick in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gerardo Colsa in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Doriva Simões prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Artur Sarmento got a free kick in the 25th minute. Toninho Alagoano made in the 28th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Reginaldo Borges however managed to control. Cresenciano Moya received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Doriva Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrés Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcel Queirós in the 31st minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The wind increased when Marcel Queirós made the kick off in the second half. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 51st minute, but Andrés Torres got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving FC CHIVA hanging dry this time. FC CHIVA's Andrés Torres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save FC CHIVA from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Andrés Torres successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to FC CHIVA getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Hondo Palacios hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Hondo Palacios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcel Queirós got free with Andrés Torres in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC CHIVA's Andrés Torres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save FC CHIVA from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cresenciano Moya in the 65th minute of play forced CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Doriva Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Gerardo Colsa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Doriva Simões. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gerardo Colsa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Doriva Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cresenciano Moya in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Queirós in the 75th minute of play forced FC CHIVA's goalkeeper Andrés Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th match minute, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Natã Koehler to maneuver through the defense. After 77 minutes, Cresenciano Moya mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC CHIVA and the CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cresenciano Moya kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. If Agnaldo Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doriva Simões came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by FC CHIVA's Cresenciano Moya. But to his dismay, Cresenciano Moya quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Andrés Torres made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Reginaldo Borges sent off a good shot on target. Andrés Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natã Koehler, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute, Jimeno March hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcel Queirós took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andrés Torres. Andrés Torres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC CHIVA had won after a very even match.
