In the 6th minute, Wilfredo Cefero made a precise shot to the right of Vânderson Esteves. Lobo Guará's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Vânderson Esteves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Falcão Duarte went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Lobo Guará's Vânderson Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelinho Sarmento in the 19th minute of play. After 25 minutes Lobo Guará's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Laerte Moraes who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Galo do Japi's Laerte Moraes to fire away a dangerous shot which Vânderson Esteves despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Lobo Guará's Vânderson Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Joinvilense in the 32nd minute of play. Miguel Monsalve sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute Wilfredo Cefero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lobo Guará's Gustavo Mendonça in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galo do Japi's goalie prevented a goal. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 44th minute of the match, Gustavo Mendonça tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Delfim Chaves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The Lobo Guará players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Galo do Japi were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustavo Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. Delfim Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Terra in the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd minute Wilfredo Cefero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Neiva lost his temper 59 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 58th minute, one of Galo do Japi:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Galo do Japi. Delfim Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Mendonça in the 76th minute of play. In the 76th match minute, Lobo Guará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateus Terra to maneuver through the defense. Delfim Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Mendonça in the 78th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Cristián Pavon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 played minutes, Galo do Japi's Laerte Moraes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vânderson Esteves came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galo do Japi reached it. 91 minutes into the match, Galo do Japi's goal looked a bit too open when Albertinho Leite came free, but Delfim Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Galo do Japi defense, Miguel Monsalve kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Delfim Chaves. The Galo do Japi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Delfim Chaves should have stopped the shot. Galo do Japi's Delfim Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertinho Leite in the 95th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Galo do Japi players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
