The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gert Jan van Westerop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julius Vanneste having to interfere. In the 8th match minute, Limburg United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xander Van Aarschot to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian Norino during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Winthont FC's Cristian Norino got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 17th minute of the match, Alex de Rudder got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julius Vanneste was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 18 minutes Limburg United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gert Jan van Westerop who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gert Jan van Westerop got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julius Vanneste quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alex de Rudder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julius Vanneste took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex de Rudder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Alex de Rudder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julius Vanneste. Limburg United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex de Rudder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Limburg United's zone, Gert Jan van Westerop stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julius Vanneste came out of the goal and Gert Jan van Westerop tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Werner Hoving fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Winthont FC's protests and gave Werner Hoving a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Winthont FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! Xander Van Aarschot made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Winthont FC's Jan Tevreden. Julius Vanneste made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex de Rudder in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After some careless play in the Limburg United defense, Alex de Rudder kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julius Vanneste. The Limburg United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julius Vanneste should have stopped the shot. Dennis Beerthuis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Du Sausois, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Jan van Westerop in the 61st minute of play forced Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Limburg United's goal looked a bit too open when Alex de Rudder came free, but Julius Vanneste reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julius Vanneste showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex de Rudder in the 67th minute of the match. Julius Vanneste showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex de Rudder, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After a rather tough play, Limburg United's Xander Van Aarschot got a free kick in the 69th minute. Winthont FC's Kadim Argun was substituted for Alex de Rudder. In the 71st minute, Xander Van Aarschot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yves Schollens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Beerthuis having to interfere. The supporters of Limburg United booed when Winthont FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Tevreden didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dennis Beerthuis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Du Sausois in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Kadim Argun notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Limburg United's Julius Vanneste. Julius Vanneste was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 87th minute, Jacobus Lubbers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julius Vanneste was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Julius Vanneste made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kadim Argun in the 96th minute of play. Many of Limburg United's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Limburg United may have spent more time on the ball, but Winthont FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
