With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eraldo Motta in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Håkan Hök saved Elefanterna from getting behind. Håkan Hök showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Dossena in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Henrik Häger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee ignored Elefanterna's protests and gave Henrik Häger a yellow card for diving instead. Udinese echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Elefanterna had held the ball for most of the match.
