The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Antoine Bugelli hit a great ball. In the 8thth minute of the game Robert Seychell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ruquense FC's Anier Txurio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Robert Seychell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Seraċini Għawdxin's Anier Txurio threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Robert Seychell, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Andrew Miggiani in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anier Txurio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Richard Pavia hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Seraċini Għawdxin's Clayton Gerada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquilino Garci in the 18th minute of play. Seraċini Għawdxin's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Richard Pavia in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the game, Erubiel Poz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ruquense FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seraċini Għawdxin the free kick. Erubiel Poz kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Robert Seychell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 26thth minute tested the skills of Anier Txurio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Clayton Gerada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Mikelats in the 27th minute of play. In the 31st minute Antonio Asur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clayton Gerada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Andrew Miggiani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robert Seychell in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anier Txurio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andrew Miggiani got free with Anier Txurio in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andrew Miggiani's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Anier Txurio skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Andrew Miggiani who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ruquense FC's Anier Txurio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 58 played minutes Ruquense FC got a freekick which was hit by Eustaquio Fortun. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Andrew Miggiani put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Anier Txurio. If Robert Seychell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Ruquense FC's Fermin Modestio got a free kick in the 66th minute. The audience was convinced that Robert Seychell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anier Txurio was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. After 70 minutes, Robert Seychell made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ruquense FC's Anier Txurio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Seraċini Għawdxin's Andrew Miggiani in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ruquense FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 85th minute Richard Pavia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Txurio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonio Asur during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ruquense FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Antonio Asur hit a great ball. Andrew Miggiani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anier Txurio having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Ruquense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew Miggiani came free, but Anier Txurio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anier Txurio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Miggiani in the 91st minute of play. Antonio Asur struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Clayton Gerada didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ruquense FC. Aquilino Garci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Clayton Gerada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Seraċini Għawdxin's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
