José Alberto Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khairul Swee in the 14th minute of the match. Khairul Swee received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. José Alberto Chilavert came out and tried to block the shot, but Khairul Swee slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 15th minute. Golden Tigers's José Alberto Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Khairul Swee in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute, Khairul Swee ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Alberto Chilavert was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. River CBBA's Ubaldo Matildo Fillol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hakem Khorshed in the 28th minute of play. With a little luck, Golden Tigers's José Alberto Chilavert got control of the ball when Milton Casco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tobias Abarca got free with José Alberto Chilavert in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ubaldo Matildo Fillol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hakem Khorshed, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 41 played minutes Golden Tigers got a freekick which was hit by Ali Al Towatan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hakem Khorshed in the 44th minute of play forced River CBBA's goalkeeper Ubaldo Matildo Fillol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hakem Al Attar to make the kick off. In the 57th minute, Tobias Abarca ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Alberto Chilavert was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tobias Abarca in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Alberto Chilavert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Alberto Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Khairul Swee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Golden Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Khairul Swee came free, but José Alberto Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, River CBBA's Khairul Swee nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Alberto Chilavert made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. River CBBA's Cheng Ang Ning was substituted for Tobias Abarca. River CBBA's Tadeo Ignado was substituted for Khairul Swee. 82 minutes into the match, Tadeo Ignado notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Golden Tigers's José Alberto Chilavert. José Alberto Chilavert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. José Alberto Chilavert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeo Ignado went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score.
