After having played for 2 minutes, Leandro Garate managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alijilán returns's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leandro Garate was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 3 minutes into the match, Lyons's goal looked a bit too open when Jimeno Salvidor came free, but Saul Montez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Saul Iruinea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Saul Montez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 14 played minutes Alijilán returns got a freekick which was hit by Angel Leguizamón. Simon Bautista hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute Saul Iruinea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Montez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Leandro Garate had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Saul Montez. Lyons's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leandro Garate was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Ramón Abila took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Saul Montez. Saul Montez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. In the 30th minute, Ramón Abila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 32 minutes into the game, Abelardo Rainerio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lino Naelio. Abelardo Rainerio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 38th minute, Jimeno Seme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Saul Montez was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 46th minute Jimeno Salvidor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saul Montez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Alijilán returns booed when Lyons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Froilan Joey didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Alijilán returns were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Froilan Joey was the one to do the kick off. After 50 played minutes Alijilán returns got a freekick which was hit by Jimeno Seme. Jimeno Seme succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 55th playminute. Saul Iruinea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Saul Montez having to make a save. Saul Iruinea took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Saul Montez. Saul Montez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Saul Iruinea took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Saul Montez. With a little luck, Lyons's Saul Montez got control of the ball when Saul Iruinea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Saul Montez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Garate in the 86th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Alijilán returns's Jimeno Seme nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saul Montez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-11. Alijilán returns's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
