Claudinho Zonta started the match with the kick off. Jonathan da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinho Zonta in the 4th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Júlio Brasil put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ronaldo Ramos. Ronaldo Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Júlio Brasil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 minutes, Enrique Pires mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grêmio FBPA and the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 15 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Pires. Ronaldo Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simamane LuaLua, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Ronaldo Ramos came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Simamane LuaLua. But to his dismay, Simamane LuaLua quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ronaldo Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Piquerez in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Simamane LuaLua came free, but Ronaldo Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. When Simamane LuaLua fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's protests and gave Simamane LuaLua a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th match minute, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simamane LuaLua to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Grêmio FBPA defense, Simamane LuaLua kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronaldo Ramos. The Grêmio FBPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronaldo Ramos should have stopped the shot. Grêmio FBPA's Ronaldo Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Brasil in the 48th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Júlio Brasil to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Brasil got free with Ronaldo Ramos in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Júlio Brasil's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Ronaldo Ramos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Simamane LuaLua got a free kick in the 66th minute. Despite close surveillance by the defense, Gláuber Mattos managed to send off a shot that put the ball into the goal to the left of a disappointed goalkeeper. 0-6 in the 68th minute. Ronaldo Ramos made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Júlio Brasil sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th play minute Júlio Brasil came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ronaldo Ramos. 0-7. Ronaldo Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simamane LuaLua, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grêmio FBPA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Clemente Prestes was slow to take the kick. During this time CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's players had a chance to rest. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Júlio Brasil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ronaldo Ramos in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Grêmio FBPA's Ronaldo Ramos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Grêmio FBPA from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute, Simamane LuaLua left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. 93 minutes into the game, Simamane LuaLua lined in a short shot 0-9 behind a frustrated Ronaldo Ramos. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE played a much better game than Grêmio FBPA and deserved their victory. The Grêmio FBPA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
