That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Rui Varela stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hudson Abreu's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Hudson Abreu in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rui Varela, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hudson Abreu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Rui Varela when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mazen Vella Bonavita let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 8th minute shot 2-0 at rihgt post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hudson Abreu in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rui Varela prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hudson Abreu let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 13th minute shot 3-0 at rihgt post. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Clemente Prestes shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 17th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Rui Varela but with some difficulty. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Mazen Vella Bonavita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rui Varela made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Simamane LuaLua sent off a good shot on target. Hudson Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mazen Vella Bonavita got free with Rui Varela in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute Armando Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan da Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Rui Varela threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hudson Abreu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mazen Vella Bonavita in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hudson Abreu in the 38th minute of play. Mazen Vella Bonavita had several of the Grêmio FBPA's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 44 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 6-0 score and a disappointed Rui Varela as he didn't even see the shot coming. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Mazen Vella Bonavita in the 52nd minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Rui Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rui Varela stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mazen Vella Bonavita's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. In the 58th minute, Mazen Vella Bonavita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. 65 minutes into the game, Hudson Abreu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Rui Varela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Grêmio FBPA getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Silvinho Perez hit a great ball. Rui Varela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mazen Vella Bonavita, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 81st minute, Mazen Vella Bonavita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazen Vella Bonavita in the 84th minute of play. After 88 minutes, Mazen Vella Bonavita made it 12-0 with a short kick to the right side. Grêmio FBPA's Rui Varela tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot.
