Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Hélder Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A long shot from Guille Pro in the 22nd minute of play was well struck, but Arthur Bufi made a really good save at the right post. Arthur Bufi made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Bonifacio Lixandro sent off a good shot on target. Rolandas Gudaitis in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Arthur Bufi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hélder Lara hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Hélder Lara got a free kick in the 28th minute. Arthur Bufi made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Bonifacio Lixandro sent off a good shot on target. Julian Llorenc came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's 余永川. But to his dismay, 余永川 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Cristi Saron took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julian Llorenc. Julian Llorenc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bonifacio Lixandro got free with Arthur Bufi in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arthur Bufi made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Ulises Pero sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Cruzeiro Esporte Clube were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
52 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Nunez Acuña came free, but Arthur Bufi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
