Diamantino Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cezary Kasiewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Futbol Club RRFV's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cezary Kasiewski was slow to take the kick. During this time GKS Katowice's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Attilio Silveri saved GKS Katowice from getting behind. Bartlomiej Kaczor's late challenge caught a Futbol Club RRFV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bartlomiej Kaczor helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Futbol Club RRFV booed when GKS Katowice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartlomiej Kaczor didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Leonel Sanches came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Futbol Club RRFV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Sanches couldn't finish the play. Cezary Kasiewski struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Diamantino Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GKS Katowice. After 19 played minutes GKS Katowice got a freekick which was hit by Bartlomiej Kaczor. André Luís Martins took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Attilio Silveri. GKS Katowice's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 21 played minutes GKS Katowice got a freekick which was hit by Olgierd Cwojdak. A hard shot by André Luís Martins from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Attilio Silveri's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 23rd minute, Olgierd Cwojdak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Alberto de Sousa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Attilio Silveri when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Leonel Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Attilio Silveri having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ludomir Zacharek in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diamantino Senna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 43 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto de Sousa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Attilio Silveri. Carlos Alberto de Sousa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

With a little luck, Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna got control of the ball when Ludomir Zacharek tried to sneak it across the goal line. A well done corner resulted in Lucjan Werra drilling the ball in to score 1-1 behind Futbol Club RRFV's goalkeeper. Ludomir Zacharek struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Diamantino Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GKS Katowice.
