Nicolás Castillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Samuca Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Samuca Reis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Macnelly Torres's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 19th minute, Macnelly Torres ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samuca Reis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 22 minutes into the match, CD.AUKINKO's goal looked a bit too open when Macnelly Torres came free, but Samuca Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuca Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolás Castillo in the 24th minute of play. After having played for 27 minutes, Amédée Gillis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vancouver Reds's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amédée Gillis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD.AUKINKO's goalkeeper Samuca Reis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Omar Duardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrés Zepeda, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute of the match CD.AUKINKO got a corner. Vancouver Reds's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Andrés Zepeda ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Andrés Zepeda almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vancouver Reds's Omar Duardo did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Macnelly Torres in the 33rd minute of play forced CD.AUKINKO's goalkeeper Samuca Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuca Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolás Castillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Macnelly Torres in the 36th minute of play forced CD.AUKINKO's goalkeeper Samuca Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. But to his dismay, Macnelly Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 44 played minutes Vancouver Reds got a freekick which was hit by Macnelly Torres. In the 45th minute, Macnelly Torres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vancouver Reds fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Vancouver Reds's Pang Jun was substituted for Lilo Stich. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Macnelly Torres to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, CD.AUKINKO's Samuca Reis got control of the ball when Macnelly Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to CD.AUKINKO getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Manuelo Ferreira hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Macnelly Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuca Reis was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Samuca Reis made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Nicolás Castillo sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Macnelly Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samuca Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Sima Marinković came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Vancouver Reds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sima Marinković couldn't finish the play. Vancouver Reds made a substitution. Through an outstanding action, after 97 minutes, Samuca Reis successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match was over Vancouver Reds could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CD.AUKINKO throughout the match.
