The audience was convinced that Miguel Van Mechelen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bengi Price was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. 20 minutes into the game, YR Mechelen's Andries Mangelschot nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bengi Price made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Miguel Van Mechelen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengi Price having to interfere. After a rather tough play, YR Mechelen's Leo Van Mechelen got a free kick in the 27th minute. After a rather tough play, Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖'s Damaso Sancho got a free kick in the 31st minute. Bengi Price came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by YR Mechelen's Miguel Van Mechelen. But to his dismay, Miguel Van Mechelen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After some careless play in the Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ defense, Miguel Van Mechelen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengi Price. The Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengi Price should have stopped the shot. Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖'s Bengi Price played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andries Mangelschot in the 68th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Andries Mangelschot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. YR Mechelen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ the free kick. The supporters of Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andries Mangelschot didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th match minute, Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Ogazón to maneuver through the defense. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The YR Mechelen fans cheered their team off the field, for while Deportivo G⦕⩙⦖ had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
