Ruy Sarmento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Cordarell in the 36th minute of the match. The referee gave Casimiro Pacorro a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a defensive mix-up in La Cosa Nostra's zone, Alberto Prado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Berdoi came out of the goal and Alberto Prado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. It was a penalty for La Cosa Nostra! The La Cosa Nostra supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing La Cosa Nostra would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
