Fellipe Travassos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agapito Payet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Washington Bezerra charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Washington Bezerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to América-SC F.C. getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Luiz Pitta hit a great ball. When Gorbea Helguera came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Todos al Fondo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gorbea Helguera couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Washington Bezerra got free with Agapito Payet in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. América-SC F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fellipe Travassos in the 33rd minute. América-SC F.C.'s Fellipe Travassos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Agapito Payet in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Washington Bezerra came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Agapito Payet could save by the left post. In the 42nd minute Anier Zabalo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaston Roderigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, América-SC F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Osoitz Lombillo came free, but Gaston Roderigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osoitz Lombillo made a kick off. After 53 played minutes América-SC F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Azevedo. Frasco Rolan, 54 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cleithon Ortiz hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Agapito Payet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fellipe Travassos in the 57th minute of the match. The corner led Todos al Fondo's Frasco Rolan to fire away a dangerous shot which Gaston Roderigo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 94th minute, Washington Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
