But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kevan Brossier couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Chaponnay FC's Charly Boisson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aimilios Manolas. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Chaponnay FC's Dilan Bobet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nico Rezende in the 21st minute of play. If Liviu Zubaşcu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Batiste Goguet's late challenge caught a Uptown Otters's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Batiste Goguet helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Chaponnay FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Batiste Goguet hit a great ball. Dilan Bobet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Kaszubowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 minutes, Rolando Tearle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uptown Otters and the Chaponnay FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Charly Boisson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aimilios Manolas came out and tried to block the shot, but Charly Boisson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 43rd minute. Aimilios Manolas was a little too slow when Charly Boisson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 46th minute. The score was now 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 52nd match minute, Chaponnay FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Batiste Goguet to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Chaponnay FC defense, Karl-Oskar Jonsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dilan Bobet. The Chaponnay FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dilan Bobet should have stopped the shot. Aimilios Manolas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evan Le Moullec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
