Sefa Danış received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gustave Lechat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vänge IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sefa Danış was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Teinturier to make the kick off. Isac Sundström's late challenge caught a R.C. Marseille's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isac Sundström helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 played minutes Vänge IF got a freekick which was hit by Isac Sundström. Through an outstanding action, after 55 minutes, Gustave Lechat successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Vänge IF's Mikael Wenerdahl in the 56th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Gustave Lechat was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for R.C. Marseille through an amazing save. The crowd rose to their feet as Vänge IF's Mikael Wenerdahl slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gustave Lechat. That made the score 1-4 after 88 minutes of play. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Gustave Lechat successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gustave Lechat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikael Wenerdahl in the 95th minute of play.
