In the 47th minute, Yépez Abrea reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gustave Lechat. The goal made the score 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
With his leg Obregón Busto managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when R.C. Marseille's Bart Vetter fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 79th minute, Bart Vetter ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Obregón Busto was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. In the 86th minute, Xosepe Iñigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ornopata's Obregón Busto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Ornopata from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute of the match R.C. Marseille got a corner. Ornopata's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Obregón Busto successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match was over R.C. Marseille could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ornopata throughout the match.
