Osvald Samuelsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristobal Hulberto in the 9th minute. In the 14th minute Severiano Taurino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvald Samuelsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Albert Hernström came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the DIF LEEDS BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albert Hernström couldn't finish the play. After 21 played minutes Deportivo Balvanera got a freekick which was hit by Placido Cordarell. After some careless play in the Deportivo Balvanera defense, Holger Lidström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abel Neron. The Deportivo Balvanera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abel Neron should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Balvanera's zone, Holger Lidström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Neron came out of the goal and Holger Lidström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abel Neron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andréas Linqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute.
