Betão Paulista came out of the goal and Isaac Perrando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martín Izquierdo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diguinho de Godoi in the 30th minute of play. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Barrera 2.0 reached it. Valério Xavier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Martín Izquierdo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Gerson Berger notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Martin Palermo F.C.'s Martín Izquierdo. Martín Izquierdo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
