The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caetano Toscano got free with Igor Camargo in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Afonso Baiano's late challenge caught a Barcellos Mineiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Baiano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute Caetano Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Villa Verde FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Barcellos Mineiro FC:s goal. Igor Camargo had in the 15thth minute some difficulties stopping Manuel Antunes's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Villa Verde FC's goalkeeper Igor Camargo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Vidal. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Caetano Toscano took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Igor Camargo to make any attempt to save it. In the 25th minute Caetano Toscano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldir Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Baiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Igor Camargo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caetano Toscano in the 31st minute. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Villa Verde FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Manuel Antunes was slow to take the kick. During this time Barcellos Mineiro FC's players had a chance to rest. Igor Camargo made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Caetano Toscano sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Barcellos Mineiro FC's Eriberto Vidal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Igor Camargo. That made the score 2-0 after 36 minutes of play. Eriberto Vidal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Igor Camargo came out and tried to block the shot, but Eriberto Vidal slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 41st minute. Caetano Toscano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Igor Camargo made a huge save.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Fernando Barros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Igor Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Toscano in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Eriberto Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Villa Verde FC's Igor Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caetano Toscano in the 55th minute of play. Barcellos Mineiro FC made a substitution. Chu Liang Ping replaced Eriberto Vidal. Igor Camargo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After 66 minutes Villa Verde FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manuel Antunes who took care of the corner kick. Chu Liang Ping's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igor Camargo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. In the 87th minute Barcellos Mineiro FC were awarded a corner. Manuel Antunes went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Caetano Toscano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Igor Camargo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Caetano Toscano took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Igor Camargo. Igor Camargo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. 92 minutes into the match, Chu Liang Ping notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Villa Verde FC's Igor Camargo. Igor Camargo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Igor Camargo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chu Liang Ping's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. After 98 minutes Villa Verde FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manuel Antunes who took care of the corner kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Villa Verde FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Barcellos Mineiro FC.
