The audience thought a goal was coming when Benigno Froila got free with Karim Sifi in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabricio Stephen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Piero Quispe, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The audience was convinced that Piero Quispe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabricio Stephen was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Donat Collier scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabricio Stephen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 39 minutes into the game, Juan Manuel Vargas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nova Soccer's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Águilas Poblanas the free kick. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Fabricio Stephen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Piero Quispe's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. After 60 played minutes Águilas Poblanas got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Guerau. Elpidio Chayo hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Piero Quispe came free, but Fabricio Stephen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Nova Soccer's goal looked a bit too open when Benigno Froila came free, but Karim Sifi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiburcio Firman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karim Sifi having to interfere. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
