The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cacá Riquelme during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 51 minutes in the game Justino Terciero did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Ubaldo Elazar. Astor Transito yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. The corner led Gremio Viana's Carlos Luna to fire away a dangerous shot which Astor Transito despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience was convinced that Emilio Tello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vicente Paixão was relentless in the 78th minute of the game.
