Moises Nisio hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. 4 minutes into the game, Hildeberto Póvoas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gremio Viana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Águilas Poblanas the free kick. In the 4th match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hildeberto Póvoas to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Luna took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabricio Stephen. Fabricio Stephen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Fabricio Stephen made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Carlos Luna sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Gremio Viana getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Salvador Resende hit a great ball. Vicente Paixão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benigno Froila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rdth minute of the game Carlos Luna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Águilas Poblanas's Fabricio Stephen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Gremio Viana's Despot Majetić got a free kick in the 25th minute. Fabricio Stephen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Luna, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Águilas Poblanas's Fabricio Stephen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Águilas Poblanas from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Águilas Poblanas getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Elpidio Chayo hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Águilas Poblanas's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Luna came free, but Fabricio Stephen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Carlos Luna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Fabricio Stephen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Luna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Fabricio Stephen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 43 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's goal looked a bit too open when Timoteo Elija came free, but Vicente Paixão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lourenço Passos hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Carlos Luna reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fabricio Stephen. The goal made the score 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elpidio Chayo made a kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Carlos Luna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Fabricio Stephen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Despot Majetić during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 59th minute, Despot Majetić hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 61 minutes, Leonardo Valido mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gremio Viana and the Águilas Poblanas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benigno Froila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Leonardo Valido was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. After 70 played minutes Gremio Viana got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Valido. A sloppy throw-in by Moises Nisio in the 73rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gremio Viana's Carlos Luna. 74 minutes in the game Moises Nisio did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Benigno Froila. After some careless play in the Gremio Viana defense, Elpidio Chayo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vicente Paixão. The Gremio Viana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vicente Paixão should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Gremio Viana booed when Águilas Poblanas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moises Nisio didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Águilas Poblanas players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gremio Viana.
