In the 19th minute Ebbo Böse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Cardoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Uwe Ziege managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Montesclarense E.C.'s Wiliam Damião fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wiliam Damião in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Uwe Ziege saved Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting behind. In the 26th match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmar Assing to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th match minute, Rot-Weiss-Essen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ebbo Böse to maneuver through the defense. Fellipe dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute of the match, Elmar Assing got a very nice opportunity to score, but Tostão Cardoso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Tostão Cardoso came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Rot-Weiss-Essen's Ebbo Böse. But to his dismay, Ebbo Böse quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. A collision led to Rot-Weiss-Essen getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Helmut Malinowski hit a great ball. With a little luck, Montesclarense E.C.'s Tostão Cardoso got control of the ball when Ebbo Böse tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ebbo Böse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Tostão Cardoso made a huge save.
