The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Kickers United booed when Sletteenge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tøger Sporring didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arne Heeris stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luca Savino's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Sletteenge's Tøger Sporring got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 10thth minute of the game Dino Maquiano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sletteenge's Arne Heeris was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Sletteenge getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Miki Byklint hit a great ball. Luca Savino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Arne Heeris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miki Byklint got free with Cederik Huts in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute, Luca Savino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kickers United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 21 minutes into the match, Kickers United's goalkeeper Cederik Huts had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgil Jellingdal. Sletteenge's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Espen Tao in the 22nd minute. The corner led Sletteenge's Espen Tao to fire away a dangerous shot which Cederik Huts despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Arne Heeris stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Reijnders's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sletteenge's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Niels Vandamme was slow to take the kick. During this time Kickers United's players had a chance to rest. 29 minutes into the match, Sletteenge's goal looked a bit too open when Dino Maquiano came free, but Arne Heeris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Kickers United were awarded a corner. Niels Vandamme went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience was convinced that Luca Savino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arne Heeris was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. In the 36th minute, Jorge Reijnders made a precise shot to the right of Arne Heeris. Sletteenge's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Sletteenge's Arne Heeris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dino Maquiano in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Kickers United were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luca Savino made a kick off. Arne Heeris made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Luca Savino sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dino Maquiano got free with Arne Heeris in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the game, Espen Tao was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sletteenge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kickers United the free kick. In the 59th minute of the match Kickers United got a corner. Sletteenge's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Niels Vandamme ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luca Savino made a great header on Kickers United's corner, it was just that Sletteenge's Arne Heeris managed to reach the ball for a save. With his leg Arne Heeris managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Kickers United's Luca Savino fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Arne Heeris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Reijnders, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Luca Savino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Arne Heeris when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Kickers United's goalkeeper Cederik Huts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arne Heeris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lode Rouvroys in the 83rd minute of play. With a little luck, Sletteenge's Arne Heeris got control of the ball when Luca Savino tried to sneak it across the goal line.
