The audience was convinced that Ricardo Kaká's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Norman-Alexander Wellmann was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Roman Diel managed to get in a good position for a shot. The supporters of FV Wienerwald booed when Blue Mountain State was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Muhsin Taze didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Blue Mountain State's Sakut Sendur got a free kick in the 11th minute. Yalçın Olgunay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roman Diel, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Yalçın Olgunay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 26 played minutes, FV Wienerwald's Björn Gottschling shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yalçın Olgunay came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FV Wienerwald reached it. Yalçın Olgunay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Gerber in the 27th minute of play. Blue Mountain State's Yalçın Olgunay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Gerber in the 32nd minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, FV Wienerwald's Roman Diel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yalçın Olgunay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Fikri Kutsalmis's late challenge caught a FV Wienerwald's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fikri Kutsalmis helped the player get up and apologised. Fikri Kutsalmis kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Kaká made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Ricardo Kaká shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norman-Alexander Wellmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Norman-Alexander Wellmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuralp Şahinkan in the 53rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Blue Mountain State defense, Robert Gerber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yalçın Olgunay. The Blue Mountain State fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yalçın Olgunay should have stopped the shot. Roman Diel spun around in front of the goal 59 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Blue Mountain State's goal. Norman-Alexander Wellmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Kaká, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. With a little luck, Blue Mountain State's Yalçın Olgunay got control of the ball when Robert Gerber tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 82 minutes, Kai van de Sand managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FV Wienerwald's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kai van de Sand was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luca Ternes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Yalçın Olgunay made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Artun Şenyurt put it in 2-5 from a short distance just to the right of Norman-Alexander Wellmann. Kai van de Sand hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artun Şenyurt in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norman-Alexander Wellmann saved FV Wienerwald from getting behind. FV Wienerwald played a much better game than Blue Mountain State and deserved their victory. The Blue Mountain State players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
