In the 26th minute Durval Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peeter Bonetti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th match minute, FC Dundee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heiki Aabloo to maneuver through the defense. Durval Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peeter Bonetti having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Valdo de Almeida sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Dundee's Peeter Bonetti didn't even have to move. The supporters of Brazil Academy booed when FC Dundee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Loss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hristo Botev made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, FC Dundee's goalkeeper Peeter Bonetti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximiliano Omar. Brazil Academy's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Dundee the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Alex Mägi managed to get in a good position for a shot. João Couto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Dundee. With a little luck, FC Dundee's Peeter Bonetti got control of the ball when Maximiliano Omar tried to sneak it across the goal line.
