Dedê Jacinto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Minichiello in the 33rd minute of play. Bebela's Dedê Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberigo Gianfrancesco in the 43rd minute of play. After 45 played minutes Bebela got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Zonta. The audience was convinced that Alberigo Gianfrancesco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dedê Jacinto was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Aírton Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Polidori having to interfere. The supporters of Bebela booed when XMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciccio Capaldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Aírton Simão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armando Polidori was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Bebela's Angelo Britto got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute Angelo Britto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Polidori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
