The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Ruud Gullit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Ted saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Gullit in the 11th minute of play forced HFA FC's goalkeeper Atilano Ted to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Estrela Solitária's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tarcisio Quintal in the 13th minute. Estrela Solitária's attentive Rogério do Valle managed to snatch the ball when Nicasio Lorenz made a throw-in in the 14th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Gullit in the 16th minute of play forced HFA FC's goalkeeper Atilano Ted to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute Ruud Gullit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Ted saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25thth minute of the game Ruud Gullit who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but HFA FC's Atilano Ted was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Téo de Castro scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Atilano Ted, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as HFA FC's Cayetano Esdras slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anselmi Saksinen. That made the score 1-1 after 34 minutes of play. Cayetano Esdras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Anselmi Saksinen made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Sebastian Turi sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute Meng Ran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Ted saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, HFA FC's Gilberto Fonda got a free kick in the 41st minute. When Ladislao Gaufred fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored HFA FC's protests and gave Ladislao Gaufred a yellow card for diving instead. Anselmi Saksinen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Turi in the 47th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruud Gullit stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Dario Ciceron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, HFA FC's Cayetano Esdras got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After 64 played minutes HFA FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Damario. If Cayetano Esdras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud Gullit in the 74th minute of play forced HFA FC's goalkeeper Atilano Ted to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Estrela Solitária's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Turi came free, but Anselmi Saksinen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Ruud Gullit dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Atilano Ted, 1-3. Cayetano Esdras kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When the match was over Estrela Solitária could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than HFA FC throughout the match.
