In the 29th minute Lucho Pérez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ersen Bumba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Colo-Colo's Manolito Neira got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Tansu Erdursun came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the ☆BumbAAlacati☆ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tansu Erdursun couldn't finish the play. Oscar Opazo charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Francisco Aguayo in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ersen Bumba saved ☆BumbAAlacati☆ from getting behind. When Miguel Riffo fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colo-Colo's protests and gave Miguel Riffo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Miguel Riffo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Colo-Colo's Alexis Ardizzoni got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Behram Özerkmen was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mehmet Bilge Malik hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Ersen Bumba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexis Ardizzoni, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Ersen Bumba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucho Pérez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Colo-Colo walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
