After a defensive mix-up in Grytöl's zone, Roy Bennet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Erik Västlund came out of the goal and Roy Bennet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Protegéerna booed when Grytöl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christer Johansson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Grytöl's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Bennet came free, but Karl-Erik Västlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claes Henriksson got free with Georg Vallin in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
