Steen Müür took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marin Zbuchea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of De hijgende Hertjes booed when F.C. YKE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cazimir Puișoru didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute of the match Han Kostermans shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Helmuth Duckadam showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Helmuth Duckadam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcel Lammers in the 13th minute of the match. Steen Müür stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marin Zbuchea's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. F.C. YKE's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edgar Oblemenco in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute Marin Zbuchea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steen Müür saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by De hijgende Hertjes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edgar Oblemenco was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C. YKE's players had a chance to rest. The corner led F.C. YKE's Edgar Oblemenco to fire away a dangerous shot which Steen Müür despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Helmuth Duckadam made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Marcel Lammers sent off a good shot on target. Marin Zbuchea might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steen Müür. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marin Zbuchea ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in De hijgende Hertjes's zone, Marin Zbuchea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steen Müür came out of the goal and Marin Zbuchea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the game, Leendert Zuurman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. De hijgende Hertjes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. YKE the free kick. After 47 played minutes De hijgende Hertjes got a freekick which was hit by Leendert Zuurman. The audience held their breath when Cazimir Puișoru in the 48th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Steen Müür's left hand side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Marin Zbuchea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wachirapong Pobedimskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Marin Zbuchea's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Steen Müür skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. F.C. After a rather tough play, De hijgende Hertjes's Ronny Koole got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 70th minute Gerrit Wiarda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmuth Duckadam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Marin Zbuchea came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the F.C. YKE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marin Zbuchea couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute, F.C. YKE's Marin Zbuchea ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Steen Müür. Steen Müür yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. De hijgende Hertjes were furious when Geert Fokkelman was red carded, 81 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Steen Müür made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ike Schmeichel in the 85th minute. In the 86th match minute, De hijgende Hertjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wachirapong Pobedimskiy to maneuver through the defense. Marin Zbuchea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 92 minutes into the match, De hijgende Hertjes's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Oblemenco came free, but Steen Müür reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marin Zbuchea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steen Müür having to make a save. Edgar Oblemenco might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steen Müür. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Oblemenco ran back to his position shaking his head. F.C. YKE's Marin Zbuchea got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded F.C. YKE left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than De hijgende Hertjes.
