After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Brendan Gannan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frenchville Sports Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Brendan Gannan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frenchville Sports Club's Eddie Sparrow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Avalos in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, Hernán Losada cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eddie Sparrow was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Damon Waters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Curumalán AFC's zone, Brendan Gannan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geronimo Gabrio came out of the goal and Brendan Gannan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the match, Frenchville Sports Club's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Chorche came free, but Eddie Sparrow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Gabriel Avalos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eddie Sparrow was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Geronimo Gabrio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damon Waters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reese Oconnell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Geronimo Gabrio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Reese Oconnell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Geronimo Gabrio made a huge save. In the 33rd minute of the match Frenchville Sports Club got a corner. Curumalán AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Earle Lingwoodock ran over to the corner to take the kick. Frenchville Sports Club's Earle Lingwoodock was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Geronimo Gabrio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Curumalán AFC's Geronimo Gabrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brendan Gannan in the 34th minute of play. Eddie Sparrow took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, Curumalán AFC's goalkeeper Geronimo Gabrio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reese Oconnell. Geronimo Gabrio was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Reese Oconnell capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Reese Oconnell really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Eddie Sparrow made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Velasco in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Brendan Gannan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Geronimo Gabrio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Brendan Gannan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brendan Gannan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gabriel Avalos came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Eddie Sparrow could save by the left post. In the 56th minute, Earle Lingwoodock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Alan Velasco came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Curumalán AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Velasco couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Curumalán AFC booed when Frenchville Sports Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Laing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geronimo Gabrio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brendan Gannan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Damon Waters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geronimo Gabrio having to interfere. Frenchville Sports Club's defense didn't have a chance, in the 80th minute, when Hernán Losada scored to the left of an out of position Eddie Sparrow, making the score, 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brendan Gannan in the 84th minute of play forced Curumalán AFC's goalkeeper Geronimo Gabrio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Curumalán AFC's Gabriel Avalos got a free kick in the 85th minute. Geronimo Gabrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brendan Gannan, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. When Frenchville Sports Club's Brendan Gannan in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Curumalán AFC's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reese Oconnell in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geronimo Gabrio saved Curumalán AFC from getting behind. Geronimo Gabrio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brendan Gannan went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-4 was the resulting score. Diego Chorche could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Eddie Sparrow made a huge save. The Curumalán AFC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
