The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Fidel Dimas put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tomé Montenegro. 14 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goalkeeper Quique Iglesias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cláudio Paiva. 16 minutes into the match, Los Delfines's goal looked a bit too open when Sidnei Bertassi came free, but Quique Iglesias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Los Delfines's Quique Iglesias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Paiva in the 19th minute of play. Ferreira Lopes MZC's Cláudio Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ferreira Lopes MZC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Cláudio das Neves hit a great ball. Quique Iglesias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With a little luck, Los Delfines's Quique Iglesias got control of the ball when Dário Martins tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dalmacio Edwardo kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Quique Iglesias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Paiva in the 35th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cláudio Paiva in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Quique Iglesias prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cayetano Rolado during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 40 played minutes Los Delfines got a freekick which was hit by Cayetano Rolado. Quique Iglesias made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Dário Martins sent off a good shot on target. In the 43rd minute of the match Ferreira Lopes MZC got a corner. Los Delfines's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dedé Paiva ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ferreira Lopes MZC's Dedé Paiva to fire away a dangerous shot which Quique Iglesias despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Quique Iglesias was a little too slow when Cláudio Paiva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 1-1. Ferreira Lopes MZC's Herald Depauw was substituted for Luka Beaugendre. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 56th minute, Dedé Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 60 played minutes Ferreira Lopes MZC got a freekick which was hit by Cláudio das Neves. Dário Martins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dário Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Quique Iglesias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Martins in the 69th minute of the match. Quique Iglesias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Costel Eta kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Los Delfines's Quique Iglesias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cláudio Paiva in the 79th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Cláudio Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quique Iglesias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cláudio Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Quique Iglesias read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Paiva in the 93rd minute of play forced Los Delfines's goalkeeper Quique Iglesias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 96 minutes of play, Ferreira Lopes MZC's Cláudio Paiva made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Quique Iglesias was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 99th minute, Cláudio das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ferreira Lopes MZC fully deserved thier win.
