An unexpectedly hard shot by Baraquiel Naranjo in the 10th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bülent Ulunay could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Manfredo de Souza made a huge save. Peng Qian Kun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Armando Botelho's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Armando Botelho sped through Valleslona F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Peng Qian Kun. Manfredo de Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caitano Ponce in the 17th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raúl Martínez got free with Manfredo de Souza in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Valleslona F.C.'s Caitano Ponce slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Manfredo de Souza. That made the score 1-1 after 21 minutes of play. Manfredo de Souza made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Caitano Ponce sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Valleslona F.C.'s Manfredo de Souza threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Caitano Ponce, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Capibaribe Stars's Manfredo de Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Capibaribe Stars from getting a goal against them. Raúl Martínez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Manfredo de Souza made a huge save. Caitano Ponce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Manfredo de Souza made a huge save. Danilo Teixeira hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Peng Qian Kun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Botelho in the 41st minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Valleslona F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Armando Botelho came free, but Peng Qian Kun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peng Qian Kun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Camargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimundo Camargo to make the kick off. Capibaribe Stars's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to Capibaribe Stars getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Serginho Koehler hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rolando Silvestre in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manfredo de Souza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Manfredo de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caitano Ponce, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute, Baraquiel Naranjo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Valleslona F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caitano Ponce in the 85th minute of play forced Capibaribe Stars's goalkeeper Manfredo de Souza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Botelho hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Caitano Ponce came free, but Manfredo de Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rufino Lermo's late challenge caught a Capibaribe Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rufino Lermo helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Valleslona F.C.! Valleslona F.C. were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
