The referee felt a red card was in order, 10 minutes into the game, when Ninoslav Stipanić put in a rough tackle. After a rather tough play, GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Ninoslav Stipanić got a free kick in the 11th minute. Gerardo Oinatz scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elbert Klerk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Osmar Motta in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santiago Gau prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gordan Kordić during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gordan Kordić hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Gordan Kordić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santiago Gau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Marčić in the 24th minute of the match. Reşit Akyüz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Santiago Gau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Toni Marčić might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santiago Gau. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Toni Marčić ran back to his position shaking his head. Santiago Gau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reşit Akyüz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Mainumby's zone, Toni Marčić stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Gau came out of the goal and Toni Marčić tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute, Toni Marčić made a precise shot to the right of Santiago Gau. Mainumby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Mainumby made a substitution. Honorato Omero replaced Candido Suero. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Osmar Motta was the one to do the kick off. Toni Marčić sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Reşit Akyüz came free, but Santiago Gau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osmar Motta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Santiago Gau having to make a save. GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Reşit Akyüz got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 63rd minute Osmar Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Gau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reşit Akyüz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Gau having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Gradimir Juraga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute Osmar Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Gau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute Toni Marčić shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Gau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago Gau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toni Marčić in the 71st minute of the match. Osmar Motta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot by Amadeo Olivar from long distance, 80 minutes into the match, got Elbert Klerk's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Santiago Gau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Osmar Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Santiago Gau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reşit Akyüz in the 84th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Osmar Motta sped through Mainumby's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Santiago Gau. Osmar Motta kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After 89 played minutes Mainumby got a freekick which was hit by Honorato Omero. In the 91st minute, Reşit Akyüz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Armando Beltza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Osmar Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the GNK Dinamo Zagreb™ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
