The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Vassilis Koliopoulos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kryspin Wyrostek. Newcastle United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vassilis Koliopoulos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Petros Soumedakis kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Bernard Seliga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christos Vlachakis was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Lech Wierzbicki charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lech Wierzbicki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Lech Wierzbicki got a free kick in the 20th minute. When Vassilis Koliopoulos came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the YELLOW FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vassilis Koliopoulos couldn't finish the play. Bernard Seliga had several of the YELLOW FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 23 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Christos Vlachakis as he didn't even see the shot coming. 26 minutes into the game, Nikos Triantopoulos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Kryspin Wyrostek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Borys Szarmach kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Babbis Prattis came free, but Kryspin Wyrostek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the game, Bernard Seliga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Christos Vlachakis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nikos Triantopoulos made a kick off. Bernard Seliga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christos Vlachakis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Christos Vlachakis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Borys Szarmach went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Bernard Seliga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newcastle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernard Seliga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christos Vlachakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of YELLOW FC booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Paraszczuk didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 64 minutes of play, YELLOW FC's Nikos Triantopoulos made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kryspin Wyrostek was left in no man's land by his defense there! 68 minutes into the match, YELLOW FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Seliga came free, but Christos Vlachakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. YELLOW FC's Nikos Triantopoulos got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Panagiotis Katsadramis's late challenge caught a Newcastle United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Panagiotis Katsadramis helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, Nikos Triantopoulos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Mikolaj Winszman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newcastle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Mikolaj Winszman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christos Vlachakis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Newcastle United's Bernard Seliga in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Fivos Kagouras recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Newcastle United's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
