An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernard Seliga in the 3rd minute of play forced Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goalkeeper Scott Stopar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 4 minutes into the game, Anthon Soned was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newcastle United the free kick. Anthon Soned hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Bernard Seliga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Scott Stopar was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Kennet Finnman charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. A collision led to Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Bertil Bollström hit a great ball. Newcastle United's Kryspin Wyrostek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Newcastle United from getting a goal against them. Doyle Brunson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kryspin Wyrostek having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nils Vennersten got free with Kryspin Wyrostek in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 35 minutes of play, Newcastle United's Bernard Seliga made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Scott Stopar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's Scott Stopar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernard Seliga in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikolaj Winszman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Phil Ivey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Ivey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th match minute, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Eklund to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th match minute, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertil Bollström to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bertil Bollström made a kick off. The supporters of Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kryspin Wyrostek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 72 minutes into the match, Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Paraszczuk came free, but Scott Stopar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th match minute, Newcastle United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stanislaw Giertych to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Mikolaj Winszman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phil Ivey lost his temper 86 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Phil Ivey hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Hudiksvalls Sjöbodar BK's zone, Mikolaj Winszman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scott Stopar came out of the goal and Mikolaj Winszman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Scott Stopar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernard Seliga in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Doyle Brunson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
