Goiás Esporte Clube's Mané Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Espiridion Ascot in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Espiridion Ascot came free, but Mané Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Goiás Esporte Clube defense, Espiridion Ascot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mané Quirino. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mané Quirino should have stopped the shot. When Sandrinho Vides fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goiás Esporte Clube's protests and gave Sandrinho Vides a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ríver Late booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandrinho Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 minutes of play, Ríver Late's Espiridion Ascot made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mané Quirino was left in no man's land by his defense there! 25 minutes into the match, Ríver Late's Espiridion Ascot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mané Quirino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edgard Cabral was slow to take the kick. During this time Goiás Esporte Clube's players had a chance to rest. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Goiás Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Mané Quirino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Vítor Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandrinho Vides to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Espiridion Ascot to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Ríver Late's Espiridion Ascot dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Mané Quirino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ríver Late's Luís Dias was substituted for Silvério Vargas. Ríver Late made a substitution. Paolo Musko replaced Rick Haremeijer. Luís Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Mané Quirino made a huge save. In the 67th minute, Luís Dias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mané Quirino was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mijailo Mudryk in the 69th minute of the match. Ríver Late's Gabriel Hellström pulled a muscle in his leg after 70 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benigno Ixona during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benigno Ixona kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Edgard Cabral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Paolo Musko kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mané Quirino. That made the score 1-6 in the 73 minute of play. After 79 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Osmar de Moraes. After 80 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Brito. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Edmundo Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ríver Late's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mané Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edgard Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Jacinto Luque had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mané Quirino. Goiás Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leopoldo Jacinto Luque was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. Mané Quirino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Valle in the 88th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Paolo Musko reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mané Quirino. The goal made the score 1-8. Leopoldo Jacinto Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ríver Late's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
