Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nestor Carioca came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Yo Soy Tu Padre's Justino Heli. But to his dismay, Justino Heli quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Ermegildo Su's late challenge caught a Barrenta SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ermegildo Su helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th match minute, Yo Soy Tu Padre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ermegildo Su to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute, Ursino Silvestre left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barrenta SC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 16 minutes into the game, Ursino Silvestre cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Nery Pumpido was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd minute Ursino Silvestre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justino Heli struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Nestor Carioca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yo Soy Tu Padre. Nery Pumpido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Sabóia in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Yo Soy Tu Padre's Carmelo Corderun nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nestor Carioca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After 38 played minutes Barrenta SC got a freekick which was hit by Cido Miranda. With a little luck, Barrenta SC's Nestor Carioca got control of the ball when Ermegildo Su tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carmelo Corderun in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nestor Carioca, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The Barrenta SC fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when Barrenta SC's Luiz Fábio Lima looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mário Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fábio Lima stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nestor Carioca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmelo Corderun in the 52nd minute of the match. Carmelo Corderun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Carioca having to interfere. Ursino Silvestre came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nery Pumpido could save by the left post. Nery Pumpido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nery Pumpido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. 70 minutes in the game, Mário Damião fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nery Pumpido having to interfere. Yo Soy Tu Padre's Nery Pumpido proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Yo Soy Tu Padre from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Luiz Fábio Lima took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Nery Pumpido to make any attempt to save it. When Joel Sabóia fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barrenta SC's protests and gave Joel Sabóia a yellow card for diving instead. Joel Sabóia hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Joel Sabóia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nery Pumpido. The goal made the score 2-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carmelo Corderun in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nestor Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Ursino Silvestre came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Barrenta SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ursino Silvestre couldn't finish the play. If Carmelo Corderun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Mosen's late challenge caught a Barrenta SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some careless play in the Yo Soy Tu Padre defense, Luiz Fábio Lima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nery Pumpido. The Yo Soy Tu Padre fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nery Pumpido should have stopped the shot. Barrenta SC played a much better game than Yo Soy Tu Padre and deserved their victory. The Yo Soy Tu Padre players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
