When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Michel Batistuta sped through Alvinegro Carioca's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cássio Aguiar. Léo Faria's late challenge caught a Purple Talents's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Léo Faria helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Purple Talents booed when Alvinegro Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position.
