After 13 minutes 拜耳04勒沃库森's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Youri Bemmel who took care of the corner kick. FFC Merainies 03's Niek Bemmel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but 冰谷 姚明 in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Best Junel made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when 柳振震 sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bert Bemmel in the 20th minute of play forced 拜耳04勒沃库森's goalkeeper 冰谷 姚明 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, 拜耳04勒沃库森's 卓弘鹰 got a free kick in the 24th minute. After a defensive mix-up in 拜耳04勒沃库森's zone, Niek Bemmel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 冰谷 姚明 came out of the goal and Niek Bemmel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bert Bemmel in the 28th minute of play forced 拜耳04勒沃库森's goalkeeper 冰谷 姚明 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half FFC Merainies 03 were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rafael van Zeggeren to make the kick off. 拜耳04勒沃库森's 冰谷 姚明 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Springelkamp in the 51st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Rafael van Zeggeren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but 冰谷 姚明 was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. After taking down the ball on FFC Merainies 03's corner Erik Caluwé fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and 冰谷 姚明 quite easily take care of the ball. 拜耳04勒沃库森's 麦德松 was substituted for 孙锋. When 麦德松 fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 拜耳04勒沃库森's protests and gave 麦德松 a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to 拜耳04勒沃库森 getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. 麦德松 hit a great ball. 冰谷 姚明 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael van Zeggeren, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. FFC Merainies 03's Youri Bemmel got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by 麦建浩 in the 85th minute of play forced FFC Merainies 03's goalkeeper Best Junel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 冰谷 姚明 stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafael van Zeggeren's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. The supporters of 拜耳04勒沃库森 booed when FFC Merainies 03 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niek Bemmel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded FFC Merainies 03 left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than 拜耳04勒沃库森.
