The corner led to Stiinta-Univ.'s Irinel Itoafă getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 26th minute, Akakios Vogiatzakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the game, Christos Ouzounidis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vakoufi Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stiinta-Univ. the free kick. A collision led to Vakoufi Utd getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Christos Ouzounidis hit a great ball. If Viktoras Natsikas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the match, Vakoufi Utd's Charilaos Mazonakis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silviu Lung narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Despite this Silviu Lung quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 44th minute Manuel Burdujan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petros Vasdekis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Viktoras Natsikas could shoot a difficult shot in the 46th minute, which Silviu Lung however easily saved by the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
