Stiinta-Univ.'s Silviu Lung proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Stiinta-Univ. from getting a goal against them. Crisólia FBPA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tostão Valle in the 8th minute. Tostão Valle made a great header on Crisólia FBPA's corner, it was just that Stiinta-Univ.'s Silviu Lung managed to reach the ball for a save. 11 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Silviu Lung had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ruy Prado. Crisólia FBPA's Eugênio Perez got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Stiinta-Univ.'s Silviu Lung got control of the ball when Clóvis da Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Renatinho Cordeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Burdujan, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Silviu Lung made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clóvis da Rocha in the 21st minute of play. Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Irinel Itoafă was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Renatinho Cordeiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ruy Prado during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Horaţiu Corduneanu was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 57 minutes, Irinel Itoafă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stiinta-Univ.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Irinel Itoafă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silviu Lung showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruy Prado in the 59th minute of the match. Traian Lupescu hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Crisólia FBPA defense, Manuel Burdujan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Renatinho Cordeiro. The Crisólia FBPA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Renatinho Cordeiro should have stopped the shot. In the 74thth minute of the game Clóvis da Rocha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stiinta-Univ.'s Silviu Lung was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Crisólia FBPA's Renatinho Cordeiro got control of the ball when Manuel Burdujan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute, Horaţiu Corduneanu fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Renatinho Cordeiro, passed just outside the right post. If Clóvis da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugênio Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Horaţiu Corduneanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Burdujan struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Renatinho Cordeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stiinta-Univ.. Stiinta-Univ. played a much better game than Crisólia FBPA and deserved their victory. The Crisólia FBPA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
