Abad Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Miguel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abad Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. Carlos Miguel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abad Santos in the 8th minute of play. Abad Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 13th match minute, GRÊMIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino da Costa to maneuver through the defense. Arí Terra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Elar Quero made a huge save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Liu Feng Guang was the one to do the kick off. If Geofredo Jurado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 87th minute of the game. One of GRÊMIO:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mandrake fc:s goal. The goalkeeper, Carlos Miguel, was totally fooled by Mandrake fc's Leonardo Serrano, who 89 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 93 minutes into the match, GRÊMIO's goalkeeper Carlos Miguel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abad Santos. The GRÊMIO manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Mandrake fc to win.
