The audience was convinced that Carlos Dufresne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kees Veentjer was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. A collision led to FC Stadtclub getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Matthias Vrijdags hit a great ball. In the 10th minute of the match Theo Zoontjens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alkestis Stasinopoulos skillfully saved the ball. Alkestis Stasinopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilco Kosterman in the 11th minute of play. Wilco Kosterman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alkestis Stasinopoulos having to interfere. If Ruud Geels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alkestis Stasinopoulos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruud Geels in the 20th minute of the match. FC Stadtclub's Alkestis Stasinopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilco Kosterman in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Carlos Dufresne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Stadtclub's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verwachting the free kick. After 24 played minutes FC Stadtclub got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Dufresne. 25 minutes into the match, FC Stadtclub's goal looked a bit too open when Theo Zoontjens came free, but Alkestis Stasinopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alkestis Stasinopoulos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theo Zoontjens in the 28th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carlos Dufresne got free with Kees Veentjer in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Jochen Ziegler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute Wilco Kosterman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alkestis Stasinopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jochen Ziegler kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Alkestis Stasinopoulos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruud Geels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Verwachting's Kees Veentjer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Dufresne in the 39th minute of play. Michael Hottiger kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Verwachting were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Dufresne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Romero Affolter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 52 played minutes Verwachting got a freekick which was hit by Henk-Jan Opdam. Verwachting's Kees Veentjer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romero Affolter in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute Ruud Geels shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alkestis Stasinopoulos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horatio Tobler kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Matthias Vrijdags hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, FC Stadtclub's Alkestis Stasinopoulos got control of the ball when Theo Zoontjens tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to FC Stadtclub getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Simon Lampart hit a great ball. Carlos Dufresne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kees Veentjer having to interfere. After 84 minutes of play, Verwachting's Wilco Kosterman made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alkestis Stasinopoulos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wilco Kosterman hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Verwachting's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
